STF anticipates judgment of the complaint against 2nd core of accused of scammer plot
The first class of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) decided to anticipate in one week the analysis of the complaint of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) against the second group of accused of coup attempted coup, which includes former director-general of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) Silvinei Vasques and former presidency Filipe Martins. The trial will be held on April 22 and 23.
Initially, the analysis would be done on the 29th and 30th of the same month. The president of the collegiate, Minister Cristiano Zanin, reserved three sessions for the trial: at 9:30 am and 2:00 pm on the 22nd and 9:30 am on the 23rd.

The “Nucleus Two” of the complaint are the former advisors Filipe Martins and Marcelo Câmara; General Mário Fernandes; the former PRF director, Silvinei Vasques; the former deputy secretary of the Federal District Public Security Secretariat Fernando de Sousa Oliveira; and the former supporter of the folder Marília de Alencar.

The trials are being dismembered based on the nuclei of action described by the PGR in the complaint. On March 26, the court accepted the complaint against the eight accused of the first core, including former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who became defendants.
In the trial, which will start on the 22nd, the ministers will decide whether there are enough elements to start a criminal action. The merits of the accusations, that is, whether the accused are guilty or not, will only be analyzed at the end of the instructional phase of the process, when witnesses are heard and new evidence can be harvested.
The six are responsible for crimes of attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, attempted coup, involvement in armed criminal organization, qualified damage and deterioration of listed heritage.
The complaints were “sliced” in a PGR strategy to facilitate the instruction of the process and make the judgment faster. In total, 34 people were reported for coup attempt on February 18.
They make up the first class, which will make the analysis of the complaint, President Cristiano Zanin and ministers Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur, Carmen Lúcia, Flávio Dino and Luiz Fux.
The Supreme Court has already marked the dates to analyze the complaint against two other accused nuclei. The fifth group is still under analysis by the rapporteur, Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
