Argentina arrests first woman on the run from 8/1 attacks
Conare (National Refugee Commission), a body subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior, can also approve asylum requests that fugitives may have made. This would protect convicted militants from being arrested and extradited to Brazil.
According to records obtained by Facto News Through Argentina’s Access to Information Law, by the end of September, Conare registered 181 asylum requests from Brazilians. For comparison purposes, in 2023, there were only three requests.
The number of asylum requests this year coincides with the escape of Bolsonaro militants involved in the January 8 attacks. How the Facto News showed in May, they broke their electronic ankle bracelets and fled to countries like Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.
Militant went to Brasília using a chip from abroad
In a hearing at the STF, Ana Paula denied all crimes.
He said that, on the eve of the attacks on January 8, 2023, he took a plane to Goiânia with a friend, rented a car and went to Brasília. She said she just “dropped by” Army Headquarters.
According to reports, she stayed at a hotel and learned that there would be a “peaceful demonstration” on Sunday. She also said that she would “take the opportunity” to walk around the city, according to her statement contained in the conviction.
Ana Paula’s defense states that “she traveled to Brasília for a trip, and was recovering from a surgical procedure.”
Dwarf Paula stated that bombs were thrown at the protesters and that she entered the Palácio do Planalto “at the suggestion of police officers so that she could protect herself”. She was arrested “at the moment when people were praying at the scene”, says the summary of the statement.
