Equipes de resgate retiram corpo do bilionário Mike Lynch de iate que afundou na Itália

Four of the victims were British, including 59 -year -old businessman Mike Lynch, nicknamed “Bill Gates British”, and his daughter Hannah, 18.

The first analyzes performed “show that Bayesian could be vulnerable to strong winds,” concludes a preliminary report published Thursday by Maib (Marine Accident Investigation Branch), the British body in charge of analyzing serious sea accidents.

Maib could not inspect the vessel, whose wreckage follows 50 meters deep, but revised the technical characteristics of the sailboat and the weather conditions on the night of the wreck.

The boat’s “vulnerabilities” were not known by the crew or the owner, as they were not mentioned in the ship’s stability information document, the opinion highlights.

“Since the yacht leaned beyond an angle of 70 degrees, the situation was irrecoverable,” said Andrew Moll, director of Maib.

According to the weather data, the wind reached more than 70 knots (130 km/h), causing the ship to be sustained before being flooded and sink.
