Chamber leaders call for the withdrawal of the 10-year transition proposal in PEC 6×1
Seven party leaders from the Chamber of Deputies signed a joint note requesting President Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB) to withdraw from the processing of an amendment that provides for a 10-year transition regime so that the reduction in working hours can come into effect, a proposal that is under analysis in a special commission, under the rapporteur of deputy Leo Prates (Republicanos-BA).
The amendment was authored by deputy Sérgio Turra (PP-RS). The note is signed by leaders Adolfo Viana (PSDB-Cidadania), Antonio Brito (PSD-BA), Augusto Coutinho (Republicanos-PE), Dr. Luizinho (PP-RJ), Isnaldo Bulhões Jr. (MDB-AL), Pedro Lucas Fernandes (União Brasil-MA) and Rodrigo Gambale (Podemos-SP).
Government gives in and negotiates transition rule for the end of the 6×1 scale
The objective is to garner support for the text in the National Congress; report expected to be released on Monday
“Faced with doubts about the real effects of amendment No. 1 to the PEC of the end of the 6×1 scale, which makes working hours more flexible in accordance with the country’s sectoral and regional diversity, the undersigned leaders presented a request to ask President Hugo Motta to withdraw the amendment from processing, in order to avoid distortions that compromise the clarity of the debate and the understanding of the proposal”, says the note.
The special commission would read Prates’ opinion on the PEC this Wednesday, the 20th, but the act was postponed until next Monday, the 25th, due to lack of agreement. One of the points that is not understood concerns precisely the transition time. The Chamber is still discussing with the government a transition regime between two and five years.
