First Pope of the Church was a poor fisherman; See Pontiff List

Pope Francis, who died yesterday at the age of 88, was the 26th Pontiff of the Catholic Church. Already the first bishop of Rome was one of the 12 apostles of Christ, a poor fisherman who became a saint.
Who was the first Pope
Peter is considered the first Pope in history. He eventually became the leader of the 12 apostles group. After death, resurrection and rise of Jesus, he assumed the coordination of the works. Peter has a central place in primitive Christianity, so much so that the popes are called successors of the apostle Peter by tradition.
Before being Peter, it was called Simon. The popes adopt a new name when they took over the post, and the same happened with this apostle who, in the first books of the New Testament of the Bible, is related to the name Simon. He worked as a fisherman in the region of the Galilee Sea and, alongside his brother André, was one of the first disciples of Jesus.
