Brazil can achieve investment grade by 2026, says Haddad after rating upgrade
With Moody’s decision, which improved Brazil’s rating from Ba2 to Ba1, Brazil is one level below investment grade. Fitch and S&P keep the country two levels below investment grade
The trial began in May, when the rapporteur, André Mendonça, voted to maintain the position of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), which understands that IRPJ and CSLL can only be taxed in the country of origin. Afterwards, the trial was suspended on request.
The attorney general of the National Treasury, Anelize de Almeida, will also be present at this Wednesday’s meeting, which should take place in the early evening.
When the Attorney General of the National Treasury (PGFN) launched a transaction on the topic, the Undersecretary of Taxation and Litigation of the Federal Revenue, Claudia Pimentel, said that around 150 cases were identified in the Judiciary, which could reach R$54 billion, and another 50 on the Tax Appeals Administration Council (Carf), which are competing for R$14 billion.
