Helicopter that fell on the Hudson River in New York had no flight recorders

The aircraft, whose passengers included a high executive of Seimens AG, his wife and three children, had his last major inspection on March 1 and completed seven tourist flights before the accident, according to federal investigators.
Divers rescued the victims and the submerged helicopter pilot. Four people were declared killed at the scene, while the remaining two later died after being transported to nearby hospitals.
Some pieces that have been recovered and sent to the NTSB laboratories in Washington for inspection include the cockpit, the cabin, the horizontal stabilizer fins, the vertical fin and a part of the tail, according to the safety board update.
Researchers examined two similar helicopters as part of the investigation and met representatives of New York Helicopter Charter, which fell, to review operational records, policies and procedures, security management systems, and the pilot’s experience, the agency said.
The helicopter took off on Thursday around 3 pm local time (4 pm, Brasília) from a heliport in the city center and flew north along Hudson, New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said.
After reaching the George Washington bridge, he turned south, but fell shortly after, reaching the water upside down near Lower Manhattan near Jersey City around 3:15 pm.
