Illegal immigrants will be expelled and Los Angeles will be released, says Trump

United States President Donald Trump said on Sunday that his government is determined to “release Los Angeles from the migrant invasion” and promised to expel illegal immigrants involved in protests against deportation operations. The statement was published on the social network social network in the late afternoon and accompanied by a video of protesters in front of a federal building in the city.

According to Trump, the protests are led by “violent and insurgent turns” who attack federal agents.

“These illegal riots only strengthen our determination,” he wrote.

The president said he ordered the Secretary of Internal Security, Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, and the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, who take “all necessary measures” to restore the order and ensure the continuity of migratory operations.

“The order will be restored, illegal immigrants will be expelled and Los Angeles will be released,” he said.

The publication occurs hours after Trump praises the national guard’s performance in the city and criticize local authorities. In another post at Truth Social, he stated that California governor Gavin Newsom, and the mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass, were “unable to contain the disturbances” and said “radical left protests, promoted by agitators and often paid vandals, will not be tolerated.”

Federal mobilization began on Saturday (7) and has already taken about 2,000 National Guard soldiers to California. According to the White House, the goal is to protect federal facilities and support the ongoing deportation actions. Troops was sent by Trump without the endorsement of the state government, which had not occurred since 1965, during the march for civil rights in Selma, Alabama.

Governor Gavin Newsom called the decision “completely disproportionate reaction”. The tension in the city increased after Ice coordinated actions, which resulted in the arrest of more than 100 people over the past week.
