In a “debate with the people”, Boulos says he will turn the election around in the last 48 hours

The PSOL candidate for mayor of São Paulo, federal deputy Guilherme Boulossaid he believes that a “turn” in voting intentions will occur in the last 48 hours before the second round, scheduled for October 27th.
Boulos is contesting the election in São Paulo with the current mayor of the capital, Ricardo Nunes (MDB)which leads research at the main institutes.
The PSOL candidate made the statement during the “debate with the people” event, this Friday (18). “I have great confidence that the last 48 hours, which is what always decides elections, will create a game changer. It’s a surprise that they won’t know where it came from,” he said.
Under the hot sun, the event was held at 10 am, the same time as the debate on SBT – canceled due to Nunes’ absence. It was the third debate from which the emedebista was absent.
On a pulpit in front of the Municipal Theater, in the city center, Boulos debated with ten citizens who stood on the other pulpit. The majority of participants were staunch supporters of the candidate. They signed up shortly before the start.
Also participating in the “debate” was sociologist Benedito Mariano, who was once secretary of Urban Security for the management of Fernando Haddad (PT) between 2015 and 2016 and helped Boulos in preparing his government program.
There was still a third pulpit, named after Ricardo Nunes, which was left empty. At one point, after Boulos mentioned the police report registered by the emedebista’s wife years ago, a siren rang. It would be a right of reply granted to the mayor. “Whoever doesn’t come to the debate has no right to respond,” said the deputy.
Boulos tries a more “energetic” version, but voters don’t respond
In the first days of the second round campaign, Boulos adopted a new stance, targeting voters who voted for Pablo Marçal, but had not yet received results.
“Debate” in improvisation
As the campaign agenda was decided overnight, everything was improvised. There were no strict rules. Soon, one question was asked per citizen, promptly answered by Boulos, who promoted his proposals without measuring time. Almost all of them seemed like the so-called “doubles” of traditional debates. Some went to the pulpits just to vent.
One of the debaters denounced the removal of trees for the construction of a tunnel on Rua Sena Madureira, in Vila Mariana, in the south zone of the capital of São Paulo. The São Paulo Public Ministry (MPSP) already demanded explanations from City Hall last week and gave a deadline of 30 days. Boulos then took the opportunity to criticize Nunes about janitorial work.
A citizen demanded ecotourism projects (promoting the experience of preserved green areas) for the district of Parelheiros. Boulos defended the importance of actions in this direction and said that he will encourage family farming in the south zone.
Another criticized the operation of Line 9-Esmeralda and questioned the candidate about public transport in São Paulo. The deputy highlighted that the CPTM is responsible for the governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) and held the state manager responsible for defending privatizations.
