Janja denies having broken protocol at dinner with Xi: 'I'm not a porcelain biscuit'

First lady Rosângela da Silva, Janja, denied having committed a political gaffe during a dinner with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. According to reports obtained by the G1 portal, Janja asked the word during the meeting and embarrassed foreign authorities by saying that Tiktok, the Chinese platform, has an algorithm that favors right -wing content.

Janja denied having broken ceremony protocols and said she evaluated the content of the statement before telling her to those present. “You mean I can’t talk? I’m not a porcelain biscuit. I’m not going to dinner just to accompany my husband. And he never said, ‘Don’t say, stay quiet,” Janja said in an interview with Folha de S.Paulo published on Friday, 23.

“Let’s combine that I have common sense. I consider myself smart to know the most delicate limits and subjects.”

I want to profit from the bag

In the interview, Janja mocked former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro, complained about the “stones” of public opinion and said she does not intend to pursue a career in institutional politics. She said “no cloth” to chauvinistic comments by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) and said the petista is “strong and well” to run for reelection in 2026.

As Estadão showed, Janja has no position in the Federal Government, but has an “informal” team that performs advice on the first lady and accompanies her on trips abroad. The Janja team has at least 12 people and, since the beginning of Lula’s third term, spent more than $ 1.2 million on trips, between transfer and daily costs.

Asked about travel accompanied by a makeup artist, Janja mocked Michelle Bolsonaro, known for traveling with Uruguayan Agustin Fernandez. “You’re confusing the first lady. So it’s the other, it’s not me,” said Janja, laughing and without mentioning Michelle’s name.

Janja complained about the pressure of public opinion, evaluating how “stones” be supervised by his public spending abroad and the posture he adopts as a representative of the Government of Brazil. “I understand the opposition movement. What I do not understand are other women who should be understanding what is happening at the political moment of Brazil, and not simply turning the bazaca against me.”

The first lady said she regrets having cursed billionaire Elon Musk during an event parallel to the G20 in 2024. Janja said she did not regret speaking, but from the moment she made the statement, as the comment overshadowed other topics discussed in the G20. “I regret it because of my team, because we worked hard for the G20 last year. I personally involved in the organization, in the G20 structure, and it seems that everything became nothing,” said Janja.

Asked about chauvinistic comments from Lula, Janja stated that “no cloth” to the statements. As an example, the first lady cited a petista comment on domestic violence. In July 2024, Lula relativized the increase in domestic violence after football games. “If the guy is Corinthian, that’s fine,” said the president. About the episode, Janja recalled, “I told him, ‘Don’t do this to me.'”

The first lady said it was necessary to consider the social context lived by Lula in the last century. “It’s hard for him. He’s a 79 -year -old man. You imagine a metallurgist at the time he worked at a factory 50 years ago,” he said.

Still on the relationship with Lula, Janja told the newspaper that after the petista leaves the presidency, he will prioritize his marriage. For this reason, it does not intend to apply, for now, to elective positions. Moreover, he said “not imagining” in a career in institutional politics. “Everything I wrote for my husband in 580 days in jail, we have a life, walk, to know places together, I still dream of doing,” said the first lady.

As for the 2026 elections, Janja stated that the decision to run for reelection is up to Lula. According to the first lady, for the petista, this choice depends on being “strong health and well”. “He always says that if he is strong in health and well, he goes that way and I will be by his side. And he is strong and well,” said Janja.
