Lula says Janja will do whatever he wants, because he was not born to be a housewife

Janja is disapproved of 50% of voters who say they know it, according to a survey

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Saturday, 29, that the first lady Rosângela da Silva, Janja, will continue to do whatever she wants and that “President Lula’s wife” was not born to be a housewife. He was asked about criticism of opposition to Janja’s trip to Paris.

“She will continue to do what she does, because President Lula’s wife was not born to be a housewife, she will be where she wants, will say what she wants, and will walk where she wants, this is how I think is the role of the woman,” replied the president.

Named by Lula, Janja spoke as head of the Brazilian delegation at the opening of the Nutrition for Growth Summit (N4G), which occurred in Paris. She received a deference from French President Emmanuel Macron. The first lady was once in the French capital in July 2024, to accompany the opening of the Olympics and represent the Brazilian government at the ceremony.

Lula stated that Janja did not go to the hidden trip and reiterated that opposition irresponsibility should not be answered, as he believes that his own story will be in charge of judging the facts. “I honestly do not respond to the opposition on this subject. I think Janja has enough adulthood to answer what is serious. What is molecage, what is fake news, what is irresponsible, does not have to answer, the story will judge. And Janja was officially representing me she was not on a hidden trip, she went on a trip representing me,” he said.

He also stressed that Janja is not “clandestine” and traveled to Paris at Macron’s invitation. “She makes no apocryphal trip, she travels because she was invited to take a trip and it was no little. She traveled at the invitation of her partner Macron to discuss the global alliance against hunger and poverty, and I was very proud when she was remembered by Macron and he invited her to talk about a subject that I could be invited, who could be invited from others,” he said.
