Lula travels this Monday to Canada, where he will attend a meeting with G7 leaders
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva embarks on Monday to Canada, where he will attend as a guest of a G7 summit meeting on Tuesday in the city of Kananaskis. Formed by the world’s leading industrialized nations, the group has as members United States, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, Italy and Canada.
This will be the ninth summit of the G7 in which Lula participates president in his three terms. Along with Brazil, South Africa, India, South Korea, Australia, United Arab Emirates and Mexico were invited.
Lula will stay in Calgary, located about 100 kilometers from Kananaskis. Upon arrival in the late afternoon, there will be two commitments: a reception promoted by authorities from Alberta, where these cities are; and a welcome dinner offered by the Canadian government.

Among the main themes of the summit, the energy security and the preservation of forests stand out. The Brazilian president will take advantage of discussions to call leaders to the World Climate Conference, COP30, which will take place in November this year in Belém.
On Tuesday, Lula will have a short time for bilateral meetings. Among the meetings being analyzed, one of them would be with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, who asked for the audience with the Brazilian agent.
The only bilateral confirmed so far is with the Canadian Premier, Mark Meatary. The other meetings were not revealed by the Brazilian government.
In the late morning, the leaders of the guest countries will meet with the G7. Lula and US President Donald Trump will be face to face. There is no information on bilateral meeting request between the two, both from Brazil and the United States.
