Lula’s coalition calls for inclusion of Flávio and Eduardo Bolsonaro in action in the TSE

The Brasil da Esperança coalition, which supported Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s candidacy (PT) to the 2022 presidential elections, filed a request to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) to expand the investigation into the conduct of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and his allies during and after the national election.
The goal is to include new elements, evidence and documents obtained by the Federal Police, involving the attempt of a coup discussed in meetings held by Bolsonaro and members of his government.
Among the requests, we highlight the inclusion of Flávio and Eduardo Bolsonaro in the investigations. The information was revealed by GloboNews.

The request, which aims to incorporate details of the 4874 inquiry, in progress in the Federal Supreme Court (STF), also requires the obtaining of complementary data, such as geolocation records, to identify other participants of meetings that resulted in the draft “coup decree”.
According to the coalition lawyers, Eduardo Bolsonaro would have acted as an international articulator to ensure that if the coup were successful, he were accepted by the international community. Flávio Bolsonaro, on the other hand, would be pointed out as responsible for organizing the attacks on the electronic ballot boxes and against the Federal Supreme Court, reinforcing the coup narrative.
If the request is accepted and the investigations advance, Bolsonaro’s children could become ineligible in a possible conviction.
The name of Flávio and Eduardo Bolsonaro is often cited as alternatives if former President Jair Bolsonaro is prevented from running for the presidency in 2026 due to his ineligibility.
Lawyers of the Brasil da Esperança coalition expect the request to accelerate the progress of the process and result in a decision even before the 2026 elections.
