Marinho: Fiesp and businesspeople exaggerate the diagnosis of the impact of the end of 6×1
The Minister of Labor, Luiz Marinho, criticized this Thursday, 14th, what he referred to as “exaggeration” by the president of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp), Paulo Skaf, and business documents that attribute the risk of unemployment and other negative economic impacts to the end of the 6×1 scale.
“When the president of Fiesp, when business inheritance documents exaggerate the diagnosis of the impact of reducing working hours… exaggerates that it will go bankrupt, that it will generate unemployment, that it will generate informality. All of this we have already heard in many historical moments in the country and other countries around the world”, said the minister in a speech addressed to union leaders.
Alcolumbre guaranteed to vote on the end of the 6×1 in the Senate by July 15, says Paulinho
To the press, parliamentarians commented on the positive climate for the vote on the PEC in the Chamber, scheduled for the end of May
Marinho participated in the Chamber’s public hearing, in São Paulo (SP), an event integrated into the “Câmara pelo Brasil” program, promoted by the special commission that debates the end of the 6×1 scale and the reduction of working hours in the country.
Also present were the former Minister of the Environment and pre-candidate for the Senate, Marina Silva (Rede), and the president of Solidariedade, Paulinho da Força.
The commission is chaired by deputy Alencar Santana (PT-SP) and its rapporteur is deputy Leo Prates (Republicanos-BA).
A relevant agenda for the federal government and accelerated due to the electoral factor, the end of the 6×1 scale became a priority topic in the Chamber of Deputies. In this sense, Marinho stated in his speech that the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), is following the proceedings closely.
Marinho recalled achievements in the area of work by the PT administrations and criticized business resistance to the benefits granted to workers, in a historical retrospective. “When the CLT was created, that was it. When the minimum wage was created, that was it. When paternity leave was created, that was it. When the thirteenth salary was created, that was it. When vacations were created, that was it”, continued the PT member.
In the Chamber, the expectation is that the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) that deals with the matter will be voted on in the special committee on May 26th and taken to the plenary the following day. The text analyzed (221/2019) is that of deputy Reginaldo Lopes (PT-MG), to which the proposal by deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) was attached.
