PL leader proposes to compensate for exemption from IR with comb in Bolsa Familia

PL leader in the House of Representatives, Sostenes Cavalcante (RJ), said on Thursday (3) that the amnesty project involved in the acts of January 8 already has 165 signatures of parliamentarians. The Bolsanist bench now intends to change the strategy to try to force the vote on the proposal’s urgent request.

The new plan is to seek signatures individually, directly among deputies, rather than depending on the endorsement of party leaders. For the urgency between automatically on the house’s agenda, 257 signatures are required.

According to Sostenes, the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), would have asked party leaders to wait before formalizing support for the application. “All party leaders, except for the PL and the new, are waiting for President Hugo Motta to sign (the application),” Sostenes told journalists.

The parliamentarian assured that, starting next Monday (7), he will personally go to the countertop meetings to expand the number of signatures. He also confirmed that the bench will maintain the strategy of obstructing the work in the commissions and plenary as a way to press the vote on the proposal.

“We changed the strategy to demonstrate, once again, our respect and consideration by President Hugo Motta and the difficulty of the position he occupies. But we will not give up the amnesty under any circumstances,” said the PL leader.
