Secret Niche in church staircase hid treasures from the 15th and 16th centuries

Objects were found thanks to an endoscopic camera. According to the coordinator of the Archdiocese of Vilnius, Mykolas Sotincenka, the equipment can investigate the interior of holes and cracks in the walls.
In the secret niche were found medallions, crowns, chains, rings, scepters and two boards of coffin. According to a statement from the Archdiocese of Vilnius, the searches featured researchers from the Church Heritage Museum in Vilnius and National Museum of the Lithuanian Grand Dukes Palace.
The discovered insignia are invaluable treasures, symbols of the tradition of the Lithuanian state and magnificent goldsmith examples GINTARS LINAS GRU’ASArchbishop of Vilnius.
The items belonged to the monarchy of Lithuania and Poland of the 15th and 16th century, More precisely Alexandre Jagiellon (Grand Duke of Lithuania and King of Poland) and Isabel of Habsburg and Barbara Radziwi, wives of Sigismund II Augustus (was also Grand Duke of Lithuania and King of Poland).
