Senate approves basic text of tax reform regulation project

This Thursday, the Senate plenary approved the main text of the first regulatory project for tax reform on consumption.
Reported by senator Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM), the text maintains the “lock” established by deputies to the reference rate for the new taxation so that it does not exceed 26.5%, and also the provision of a first assessment five-year period of standard taxation based on 2030 data. It also provides for the so-called “cashback” for telecommunications services.
The base text can still be changed during voting on amendments highlighted to be analyzed separately.
