Senate approves position for TCU auditor and salary could reach R$ 58,600

The Senate plenary approved on the night of this Wednesday, 3rd, a project that grants a salary increase to auditors of the Federal Audit Court (TCU) and also authorizes the payment of an additional salary due to the accumulation of functions. According to the text of the project, the salaries of TCU employees could reach R$58,600 in 2029.

The adjustment will be paid in four installments starting in 2026. The project was authored by the court itself. According to the Senate, the impact of the benefits is estimated at R$24.5 million per year.

The text predicts that the remuneration of an auditor at the top of his career will increase from R$37 thousand to R$44.5 thousand. But the value can reach R$58,600 depending on performance bonuses to be paid to servers.

The project also establishes six types of paid commissioned functions for those who occupy a position of trust in the Court of Auditors. According to the Senate, the text also defines rules on payment of the so-called compensatory leave. This license for occupying a “relevant function” or accumulation of activities may be converted into cash, and income tax will not be deducted on the amount.
