STF will judge on March 25 denunciation of the coup against Bolsonaro and allies

Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) released on Thursday, 13, the complaint of the coup inquiry for trial in the first class of the Court. The vote will be on March 25th.

The trial will be dismembered based on the nuclei of action described by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) in the complaint.

At this time, Alexandre de Moraes released the complaint against Center 1, which according to PGR is composed of former President Jair Bolsonaro, former ministers Walter Braga Netto (Civil House and Defense), Anderson Torres (Justice), Augusto Heleno (Institutional Security Office) and Paulo Sérgio Nogueira de Oliveira (Defense), former Navy Commander Alexandre Alexandre Ramage and Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid.

The minister dispatched after receiving the prior defenses of the accused and the opinion of the Attorney General Paulo Gonet.

Questions about procedural rules and the impartiality of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the coup inquiry, dominated the manifestations of the defendants of the accused.

The lawyers presented to the Supreme Court a series of objections involving the process and also the organization of the complaint. Based on technical arguments on supposed formal “addictions” in the progress of the investigation, the defenses try to end the inquiry without analysis of the merit.

All preliminary issues need to be considered by the ministers in the judgment on the admission of the complaint. The trend, however, is that the accusation is received.
