The weather in Brazil promises to be quite unstable this weekend, with the forecast of sun and rain in the Southeast and strong winds in the South.

According to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), low pressure that forms between Rio Grande do Sul and Uruguay this Friday (6) is expected to cause intense rain in all southern states, with accumulations exceeding 100 millimeters and winds that can reach 100 km/h.

The rains were classified as “dangerous” in an orange meteorological warning issued by Inmet, especially for Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and southern Paraná.

In other regions of Paraná, rain is also expected, but the accumulated rainfall should not exceed 50 millimeters per day.

The forecast is that the storms will last until next Monday (9).

In the Southeast, the climate should remain in a “middle ground”, with heat and some isolated rain showers, and in Minas Gerais the rains could be more intense.

With the approach of a cold front on Sunday (8), the expectation is that rain will increase in most states in the region.

In the Central-West, the forecast is also for heat and isolated rain, with Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul likely to record heavier rains.

In the North, hot weather is expected, with occasional rains in states such as Amazonas, Pará and Tocantins.

In the Northeast, which recorded strong storms this week, the forecast is for relief in the rains, with a decrease in the intensity of the system that operated in the region.

The storms in the South are expected to begin this Friday, with the formation of an extratropical cyclone that could cause adverse weather.

These cyclones are low pressure systems that arise in mid-latitudes, formed by the contrast in temperatures of different air masses.

From Saturday onwards, the storms should concentrate in Rio Grande do Sul, especially in the north of the state, in Santa Catarina and Paraná.
