Trump rules out sending US delegation to Pakistan and says war will end
US President Donald Trump ruled out sending an American delegation to Pakistan for negotiations with Iran to end the conflict in the Middle East, but assured that the war will end “soon” and that Washington will be victorious, in an interview with Fox News this Sunday (26). At the time, he justified his refusal due to the “long flight hours”.
“If Iran wants to talk, then it can call us or come to the US. We will negotiate over the phone, we have secure phone lines. I will not send people to Pakistan, it is a 17 or 18 hour flight,” he said, adding that the US will seize nuclear material from Tehran as part of the negotiations.
Dissatisfaction with NATO
According to Trump, some people Americans deal with in relation to the Persian country “are reasonable, others are not.”
The American president highlighted his dissatisfaction with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the war, saying that the alliance did not support the USA on the issue, and left open his feelings towards China. “I’m not very disappointed with China. Beijing could have done more about Iran, but it could also have been much worse”, he pondered.
Conversations with Putin and Zelensky
Regarding other geopolitical conflicts, Trump said that the hatred between the presidents of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, “is ridiculous”, but he maintains conversations with the two leaders – although he did not provide information on when he last contacted his counterparts.
Trump also confirmed that King Charles III will visit the USA and projected that the meeting “will be great”. “He represents the United Kingdom like no one else,” he said.
