Ukraine criticizes ceasefire during ‘parade’ and asks for ‘real and sustainable peace’

Ukraine needs an unconditional ceasefire on the way to achieve peace, not a truce to be displayed in “a parade,” said a high presidential authority on Monday, after Russian President Vladimir Putin, unilaterally announced plans to interrupt hostilities from May 8-10.
“The ceasefire is necessary not for a parade, but for real and sustainable peace,” Andriy Yermak said in the Telegram application, reaffirming Kiev’s commitment to the total cessation of hostilities to Russia, which launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Putin declared early on Monday a three-day ceasefire in the war with Ukraine to mark the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union victory and his allies in World War II.
