PoderData: Six months before the election, Lula’s disapproval reaches 61%

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) reaches the final year of his third term disapproved by more than half of voters. This is what the most recent PodeData survey, released this Wednesday (25), points out.

According to the survey, the image of the PT member is disapproved by 61% of those interviewed. This is the highest rate recorded since March 2024, when the survey began to divide the assessment of the image between assessment of the government and the president’s personal figure.

Despite the government’s poor assessment, Lula’s image is suffering more damage than his mandate itself: when analyzing the federal administration, 57% disapprove while 37% still support the PT administration.

The distance between approval and disapproval of Lula’s figure has tripled in the last two years, from 11 percentage points to 30. The increase occurs because, in addition to the growth in declared discontent, approval and neutrality have decreased among those who were unable to respond to the survey in the past.

The worsening of Lula’s image and the government’s assessment occurs almost six months before the election that could mark the PT member’s last run for President, with the possibility of a second victory in the re-election that would mark his fourth term or ending his political trajectory with his fourth defeat in the federal election.

The PoderData survey interviewed 2,500 people in 132 municipalities in the 27 federative units, between March 21st and 23rd. The margin of error is two percentage points, plus or minus.
