Tarcísio resists pressure and confirms Ramuth as vice-president on the ticket for re-election in SP

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), informed the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, that he will keep Felício Ramuth (PSD) as vice-president on his ticket to run for re-election.

The report to the PL leader occurs because the president of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo, André do Prado (PL), was one of those considered to take the position in the dispute.

The official announcement still depends on a meeting between Tarcísio and the president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab, scheduled to take place later this month.

Valdemar Costa Neto actively worked to ensure that Prado was chosen to be on the ticket, which generated friction with Tarcísio behind the scenes.

Felício Ramuth was recently involved in an investigation into suspected money laundering involving around US$1.4 million in Andorra.

Despite media pressure against Ramuth’s name, coupled with attempts by other parties to occupy the position, Tarcísio maintained his choice.
