“Messias Sky Tower”: Skyscraper inspired by Bolsonaro faces obstacles in SC

Announced as one of the most symbolic developments in the Itapema (SC) real estate market, the “Messias Sky Tower” project has not yet come to fruition six months after its launch. On the land where the skyscraper would be built, a simple house remains, without any sign of work. The information is from the newspaper The Globe.

The project was presented with the participation of Carlos Bolsonaro and Jair Renan Bolsonaro, sons of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), and included more than 50 floors in one of the most valued areas of the city, which has one of the most expensive square meters in the country.

Despite initial publicity, the project ran into technical and commercial obstacles. Sources from the local real estate sector point out that the initiative was announced before completing basic steps, such as obtaining a prior environmental license.

The responsible construction company, Dallagassa, confirmed that the original schedule was suspended during the licensing process. The company reported that there are no longer administrative impediments, but that it is still evaluating whether the project will be resumed and under what conditions.

In addition to regulatory issues, there was strain in the relationship with market intermediaries. Brokers involved in the negotiation began to charge the construction company for the delay, as the commissions depend on the sale of the units, which did not progress without the formal release of the works.

There were also uncertainties regarding the negotiation of the land. The company even signaled the possibility of withdrawing from the project, amid the difficulties faced, although it later obtained the environmental license, issued at the beginning of the month.

The political context has changed since launch. At the time, the project was associated with Bolsonaro’s popularity in the city, where he had strong votes in 2022. Recently, the former president was arrested and returned to home care after hospitalization, which changed the environment around the initiative.

The construction company claims that the project has no direct link with the Bolsonaro family and that the name was its own commercial decision, registered with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).
