Videos of French woman doped by her husband and raped will be shown to the public
Transmissions will not be ”systematic”. In other words, they will only occur strictly in cases necessary for the manifestation of the truth, at the request of one of the parties, explained the judge.
Ten years of rape
Crimes took place over ten years, between 2011 and 2020. Dominique contacted men through the website coco.fr — now deactivated — and arranged meetings.
On the agreed day, he would give his wife a strong anxiolytic and ask that the rapists not wake her up. He also advised them not to use perfume or cigarettes, warm their hands with hot water and take off their clothes in the kitchen, to prevent them from being forgotten in the bedroom. According to her husband, everyone was aware that Gisèle had been drugged without her consent.
Defendants are between 26 and 74 years old, and 18 are in pre-trial detention. The accused have different profiles. There are singles, married and divorced people, with professions such as firefighter, craftsman, nurse, prison guard, journalist and electrician. “There is no typical profile of a rapist. The rapist can be anyone,” Véronique Le Goaziou, a researcher specializing in sexual violence, told AFP.
Suspects did not use condoms most of the time. “By an extraordinary stroke of luck (…), (Gisèle) freed herself from HIV, syphilis and hepatitis”, declared medical expert Anne Martinat Sainte-Beuve during the trial, adding that the victim contracted four sexually transmitted infections . None of the accused suffers from significant psychological illnesses.
