Moraes authorizes social network X to resume operating in Brazil after 39 days

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), authorized, this Tuesday (8), the social network X (the former Twitter) to return to operation in Brazil.

As with the suspension, the resumption is not immediate, as it depends on Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) notifying internet operators, who need to operationalize the reactivation.

“I decree the end of the suspension and authorize the immediate return of the activities of x Brasil internet ltda. in national territory and I order Anatel to adopt the necessary measures to implement the measure, informing this Supreme Court within 24 hours”, wrote the magistrate in an order.

The decision comes 39 days after the suspension of the social network (which occurred on August 30), after the company communicated to the STF the payment of all fines imposed for non-compliance with court decisions and Brazilian legislation.
