Lebanon says 51 people died after Israeli attacks
Lebanese Red Cross rescuers were injured this Sunday in the bombing of a house in the south. Group had been sent “in coordination” with the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon (Unifil).
This Sunday alone, the Israeli army said it intercepted five projectiles coming from Lebanon. Israel also called for the evacuation of about 20 additional cities in the south of the country. Yesterday, the military had already advised residents of 23 villages to “not return to their homes.”
Israel transferred most of its operations to the Lebanese front a month ago. The objective is to remove Hezbollah from the border areas and allow the return of around 60,000 Israelis who had to abandon their homes in northern Israel due to rocket fire from the Shiite group.
This Saturday (12), a drone attack allegedly carried out by Hezbollah left 40 Israelis injured.
War retrospective
Hezbollah’s fighting against Israel began in October 2023, in support of its ally Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
