How much is the fine for those who do not vote in elections?
Next Sunday (27), voters in 51 cities will return to the polls to choose the mayor and deputy mayor for the next four years.
In Brazil, voting is mandatory for literate voters aged between 18 and 70 and anyone who does not attend the election is in debt to the Electoral Court.

Failure to vote or not justifying absence for three consecutive elections results in the cancellation of the title, with each round of voting being considered an election.
In cases where the voter does not present a justification for their absence to the Electoral Court, a fine is imposed as a sanction.

The fine is R$3.51 and can be paid to the Electoral Court via PIX, bank slip or credit card.
