Israeli attack kills three journalists while they slept in Lebanon
“The Israeli enemy waited for journalists to take a night break to surprise them while they were sleeping,” said Lebanese Minister of Information, Ziad Makari, in a message on the social network X.
“It was a murder (…) because 18 journalists were present, representing seven media institutions. It is a war crime,” he added.
The pro-Iran channel Al Mayadeen announced that film reporter Ghassan Najjar and broadcast engineer Mohammad Reda died in the Israeli aerial bombardment, which hit a “journalists’ residence in Hasbaya.”
On Wednesday, the broadcaster reported that a bombing hit one of its offices in Beirut, which was evacuated.
Hezbollah’s Al Manar channel said reporter Wissam Qassem also died in the Israeli bombing of Hasbaya, 50 km south of the Lebanese capital.
The local press indicated that the bombing hit a hotel in the locality, where journalists had been staying since September.
