Debate: In SP, Haddad is mentioned by Nunes and Boulos in a confrontation on Globo

The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad (PT)was mentioned in the debate on TV Globo among the candidates for mayor of São Paulo on Friday night (25). The first to evoke Haddad was the mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB).

“Haddad had included ten health items in the target plan and delivered one,” said Nunes, referring to the period in which Haddad was mayor of São Paulo. “How can you trust if you have no experience and when you promise you don’t deliver?”

The defense of political ally by Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) came shortly after, in the same second block of the debate. The PSOL candidate said he was proud of his vice-president, Marta Suplicy (PT), “a great mayor”. “You said that progressive governments promise and don’t deliver. Did you think Marta’s government was bad?” he asked.

Nunes responded with an attack: “You could answer how you think she led the Dilma impeachment process.”

Marta was broken with the PT and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for nine years. She joined the government of Ricardo Nunes, as municipal secretary and was affiliated with the MDB, the same party as the mayor. In February, the politician returned to the PT and is now on the ticket with Boulos.

During the period in which she was away from the PT, Marta voted in favor of the impeachment of then president Dilma Rousseff in the Federal Senate.

Debt of the municipality of São Paulo

Fernando Haddad was remembered again, this time by Boulos, after Nunes spoke of the renegotiation of the debt of the municipality of São Paulo as an achievement in municipal management. The Psol candidate said that the operation was only possible thanks to the Minister of Finance, who took care of the negotiations at the federal level.
