Musk is sued in the US after giving away 1 million dollars to followers

Billionaire is accused of choosing lottery winners. “Although Musk says the selection of a winner is ‘random,’ this appears false because several winners who were selected are individuals who attended Trump rallies in Pennsylvania,” Kressne writes in the lawsuit, published today (28).

Prosecutor says there is no information about data capture. To enter Musk’s sweepstakes, followers provided personal information such as name, email address, postal address and telephone number, although they did not specify how this data would be used.

Musk’s political action committee is also targeted in the lawsuit. America PAC has already donated 118 million dollars (R$672 million) to Donald Trump’s campaign, largely dependent on external groups to canvass voters, which means that the super PAC founded by Musk — the richest man in the world — plays a leading role in what is expected to be a very close election.

If not banned, their lottery scheme will irreparably harm Philadelphians — and others in Pennsylvania — and tarnish the public’s right to a free and fair election. (…) Pennsylvania voters, including Philadelphia voters, have the right to public peace, public comfort, and public convenience to engage in the electoral process without interference from outside third parties, offering the chance for a reward in return the provision of personal information.
Larry Kressner, Philadelphia Attorney General

Billionaire wants to pass gun laws

The tycoon’s objective is to take draft amendments on freedom of expression and the right to carry weapons off paper. At the beginning of October, Musk had already announced an offer of US$47 (R$267) for those who engage. Afterwards, the billionaire increased the value to US$100 (R$568) and promised to hold daily draws worth millions.
