Election will be defined by ‘purple states’

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris compete for votes in purple states. They are: Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

In these states, there is no historical predominance of Republican or Democratic victories. Most American states are loyal to one party and do not generate surprises during vote counting. Therefore, the decisive states are nicknamed “purple”, as they represent the mixture between the red (Republicans) and blue (Democrats) parties.

The candidates are technically tied in these states, says the New York Times. The poll, in partnership with Siena College, showed Kamala numerically ahead by a small margin in: Nevada (49%/46%), North Carolina (48%/46%), Wisconsin (49%/47%) and Georgia (48% / 47%).

On the other hand, Trump leads in Arizona (49% / 45%). In two other states, the score is the same: Pennsylvania (48% / 48%) and Michigan (47% / 47%).
