USA: Police kill man who called 911 during home invasion

Durham and Boudreaux had a previous personal relationship. They worked together in the real estate industry and maintained a casual relationship. Boudreaux reported to police that she was frustrated with Durham’s behavior, including his interactions with other women, which led her to confront him on the day of the incident.

Boudreaux admitted wanting to die and blamed the police. The intruder told the police that she wanted to “die at the hands of the officers” and blamed the officer for the wrong shot. She was accused of multiple crimes, including home invasion and child abuse. The incident occurred on the 12th, but this week some excerpts of audio and video captured by the officer’s body camera were released, according to the Associated Press.

According to the investigation, before the crime, Boudreaux tried to board a flight, but had his ticket canceled on suspicion of fraud. After returning to Durham’s home, she grabbed a knife and forced her way into his room, the Review Journal reported.

Police released only limited portions of the body camera footage. According to Durham family lawyer Lee Merritt, these images were selected to “absolve” the police officer. He criticized that crucial information, such as the broker’s screams for help, was omitted.

Authorities consider Boudreaux to be primarily responsible for Durham’s death. The police report mentions that her act could amount to manslaughter. However, this accusation has not been formalized, according to ABC News.

The investigation into the case remains ongoing. Clark County Prosecutor Steve Wolfson said it is too early to comment on possible charges against the officer. Meanwhile, Bookman remains away from police activities, but continues to be paid.
