“We call on North Korea to immediately cease all assistance to Russia in the war against Ukraine and withdraw its troops,” the foreign ministers of several countries reacted in a statement.

The text is signed by representatives of Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union.

In their statement, the ten countries and the EU also denounced “North Korea’s export of ballistic missiles, artillery shells and other military equipment to Russia, which are being used in the war against Ukraine.”

The ministers said they were “deeply concerned” about “the political, military or economic support that Russia may provide to North Korea’s illegal weapons program, including those of mass destruction.”

New US sanctions

The US Treasury Department announced sanctions against nine individuals and seven entities for their military and financial support of North Korea, including Golden Triangle Bank and Korea Mandal Credit Bank.
