The Turkish Journalists’ Union also condemned the incident and stated that the two professionals were targeted by a Turkish drone.

“Journalists cannot be attacked in the exercise of a sacred duty. Those responsible for the attack must be found and brought to justice” stated the union’s representation in the city of Diyarbakir, in the Turkish Kurdistan area.

According to the pro-Kurdish news agency ‘Mezopotamya’, the explosion was caused by a Turkish drone.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH) also reported the deaths of two journalists in Aleppo province, who were reportedly hit by a Turkish drone.

The Turkish Army insists that it does not attack civilians, only “terrorist” organizations.
