Ceasefire starts tomorrow. The agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip is scheduled to begin at 8:30 am on Sunday (19) local time, 3:30 am in Brasília.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened to cancel the ceasefire. Netanyahu said on Saturday that there will be no ceasefire until Israel receives a list of hostages to be released by Hamas.

The prime minister demanded to receive “the list” of hostages who will be released on Sunday. According to him, only then will it be possible to proceed with the first prisoner exchange provided for in the truce agreement with Hamas. “We will not proceed with the implementation of the agreement until we have received, as agreed, the list of hostages who will be released,” Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu also said Israel maintains “the right to resume war.” The prime minister declared that he will have the support of the United States under the terms of the truce agreement.

“We will not tolerate any violation of the terms of the agreement,” Netanyahu’s statement added. According to information provided by both parties, the first exchange of prisoners should not take place before 3:30 pm French time (11:30 am in Brasília) on Sunday, six hours after the truce comes into force.

The expectation is that three hostages will be released tomorrow. The estimate is that 98 people, 94 of whom were captured on October 7, are still in Gaza, 36 of whom had their deaths confirmed by the Israeli Army.
