Nikolas Ferreira and Pablo Marçal meet after Trump’s inauguration in the USA
Federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) and former candidate for Mayor of São Paulo Pablo Marçal (PRTB) met in Washington, United States, this Monday, 20. The two traveled to the country to attend the inauguration of Donald Trump, 47th American president.
In videos published on Marçal’s Instagram profile, the former coach calls the Bolsonaro deputy “our president in 2034”, making reference to the election year in which Nikolas, in theory, could run for President, a position that requires a minimum age of 35 years. Currently, the deputy from Minas Gerais is 28 years old.
Nikolas himself defended last Saturday, the 18th, a proposed amendment to the Constitution (PEC) suggested by an ally that, if approved by Congress, could benefit him in the 2026 elections. The project by federal deputy Eros Biondini (PL-MG ), which is in the phase of collecting signatures to be filed with the Chamber, reduces the age requirement for these positions to 30 years old.
I WANT MY ACCESS
Still at the meeting in the USA, the two talked about the video that Nikolas posted last week in which he speculated about the possibility of Pix being taxed, and reached 170 million views in just one day. Marçal questioned whether the content was produced by a marketer, and Nikolas stated that he wrote the script himself, on a notepad. “I wrote it in flip-flops,” he said.
Nikolas also said that “Brazil cannot handle two more years of Lula” and that he wants to see popular demonstrations, as he believes in “street mobilization”. “If you give me the opportunity to vote to impeach Lula, I will be there.”
In the same video, Marçal also said that “it is a great shame” that former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was unable to get his passport back to travel to the inauguration, and that he believes he is “being persecuted to become a hero” .
The former coach believes, however, that the former president will be able to contest the 2026 election. Bolsonaro is ineligible due to a decision by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
Marçal also mentions other names that should run for President. “There will be Gusttavo Lima, there will be (Ronaldo) Caiado, there will be a lot of people.”
According to Marçal’s advisor, the politician is in the American capital to try to meet with Trump, in which he intends to “discuss initiatives focused on entrepreneurship, Christian values and the strengthening of the economies of both nations”.
Responding to questions from his followers, Marçal stated that he does not intend to run for the Senate, and that, if the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), runs and wins the presidential elections, he himself will run for the São Paulo government, evaluating the chance of winning as “high”.
