1st flight of deportees after Trump's inauguration is not expected to arrive in BH

THE Facto News tries to contact the Federal Police for more details, but has not received any response so far.

This is the first flight of the new Trump era, but it was already planned even before the inauguration. Despite the Republican having toughened anti-immigration measures, Brazil and the United States have had an agreement since 2017 on deportations, and the order to bring Brazilians back today came from the previous government.

In 2025, another flight brought 100 deportees to Brazil. In this case, the plane landed in Confins on January 10, after leaving Alexandria (USA), under the management of then President Joe Biden. In 2024, 17 flights brought more than 2,100 deportees, surpassing the mark of 2023, which registered 14 flights of this type, totaling just over 1,400 people.

Itamaraty monitors the situation of Brazilians in the USA. Brazilian consulates in that country are “closely monitoring the situation of Brazilians to evaluate some type of assistance.”
