New flight with deported to Brazil is scheduled for Friday
For years, the different Brazilian governments have tried to convince Trump, Joe Biden and now the Republican government once again shipped the deported without the need for handcuffs. The requests were rejected.
It is estimated that at least 30,000 Brazilians are waiting for deportation. Brazil’s goal is that these people can be treated properly, but also that the process can be accelerated.
“We want Brazilians to be treated well,” says Lula
President Lula (PT) stated that the deported Brazilians should be well dealt with and said that it does not give up compliance with national laws at the time that aircraft with repatriades land in Brazilian territory. “When the plane opens the door, they are subjected to Brazilian law, and that we will take care of it with love, because we want Brazilians to be treated well,” he said today, in an interview with radios in Minas Gerais.
“It is a matter of human rights. We will take care of Brazilians with affection and respect. Even with medical assistance, how to treat a human being,” he added.
The president mentioned the flight with Brazilians who landed in Manaus last week after pressurization problems, in which the repatriads descended from the chained and handcuffed aircraft. “Our Federal Police intervened, our Ministry of Foreign Affairs intervened, our Minister of Human Rights intervened, and we agreed that they could not be chained,” he said.
