Minister classified as “advancement” that children and women on the flight were not handcuffed. However, men used the object on the way and, after landing on national soil, Federal Police officers entered the plane to remove the items. Macaé clarified that the Brazilian state tries to negotiate with the US to reduce the time Brazilians stay on flights. “For the US, they are deported. For us, they are repatriated. They are coming home,” he said in Confins.

In Fortaleza, Brazilians complained of abuse and hunger. Socorro França, from the Secretary of Human Rights of Ceará, said that Brazilians fed only after landing in the state. Mitchelle Benevides Meira, Ceará’s secretary of diversity, said some spent 12 hours without eating.

The plane with deported landed in Fortaleza around 4:07 pm on Friday. He departed from the city of Alexandria, in the US state of Louisiana, and had a technical scale in Puerto Rico before heading to the capital of Ceará.

1st arrival of Trump Government deported also generated allegations of abuse

The first deported flight landed in Belo Horizonte on January 25, after scale in Manaus. At the time, Brazilians denounced aggressions from US agents.

After the complaints, the landing of Brazilians underwent change. As Facto News columnist Jamil Chad released, Brazil does not want planes to fly over national territory with chained immigrants or handcuffs. The decision, therefore, was to change the final destination of Belo Horizonte to Fortaleza.
