Papa Francisco is short of breath and can not end reading in ceremony
The case happened during a reading for soldiers in St. Peter’s Square. The ceremony was part of the Catholic Church’s Jubilee celebrations and about 30,000 military personnel were at the scene, according to the Ansa news agency.
At this Sunday’s ceremony, the religious leader preached about the “need to always defend life.” He also pointed out the need to “stop cultivating the spirit of war.”
This is the second time the same week the Pope needs help to finish a speech. On Wednesday (5), he said, “I want to apologize, because with this strong flu that plagued me I have difficulty talking.”
Pontiff suffers from a bronchitis picture, according to the Holy See. In 2023, he was hospitalized three times with paintings of the same disease. In his youth, the Pope had to take a piece of the lung due to a respiratory disease.
