STF spends R $ 38,400 on ties to be given as a gift by the ministers

The Federal Supreme Court (STF) disbursed R $ 38,400 in the acquisition of one hundred personalized ties with the logo of power to be given as a gift by ministers to other authorities during institutional representation events.

The contract was closed with the company Aragelio Rio Comércio e Design de Estamparia Ltda at the cost of R $ 384 per tie. The Supreme Court must still sign a new contract to acquire handkerchiefs, which will be given as a gift to women.

The president of the Supreme Court, Luís Roberto Barroso, announced the expense on dress items during the plenary session on February 6. At the time, all ministers and the Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, used the tie and the scarf, in the case of Minister Cármen Lúcia, in blue with the logo of the court.

Barroso joked that the acquisition of ties and scarves marked the creation of the “STF Fashion” department.

“The real reason for this is that we received a lot of visits or visited places where people give us gifts and so it was a way we are kind to give back with a tie that has the Supreme Court symbol. Modesty part, it was very cute, ”said Barroso.
