Public Security leads concerns

The survey points out that the biggest concern of Brazilians is crime and drug trafficking, cited by 57.8% of respondents. Then corruption appear (49.4%) and economy/inflation (29.1%).

The public security area also records the worst government assessment. About 50% consider Lula’s performance bad or terrible, while 33% evaluate it as great or good.

On the other hand, government performance in human rights and racial equality had the best assessment. For 54% of respondents, acting in the area is great or good, while 39% classify it as bad or terrible.

Biggest errors and hits

Among the most criticized management measures, the taxation of small imports – known as the “blouse rate” – was pointed out as the largest mistake, with 70% rejection. The ordinance that provided for communication to the IRS of transactions via Pix over $ 5,000 was in second place, with 58%. Given the negative repercussion, the measure was revoked.

On the other hand, 72% of respondents evaluated the removal of prospectors from indigenous lands and environmental areas such as the government’s largest hit. The debt renegotiation unfolds, and the exemption of income tax for salaries of up to R $ 5,000 also include among the best evaluated measures.

Economy Evaluation

Brazil’s economic situation is poorly evaluated by most interviewees. According to the survey, 54% consider the current scenario bad, while 32% believe the economy is in good situation.

As for expectations for the next six months, 43% foresee worsening the economic scenario, while 42% expect improvement. Another 16% believe that the situation will remain the same.

Lula’s management still surpasses Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in direct comparison: 48.5% of respondents evaluate the current government as best, while 45.8% consider that the previous administration was superior. Another 5.7% see both management as equivalent.

The atlasintel/Bloomberg survey was conducted online between January 27 and 31 and listened to 3,125 people across the country.
