“Who defends Bolsonaro to prove what he did well,” says Lula

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) took advantage of the inauguration of a residential ensemble in Macapá to criticize former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and his supporters. During the speech, Lula questioned the opponent’s legacy in the state and challenged his voters to point out works carried out during the previous government.

According to the petista, “if anyone defends him (Bolsonaro), to prove what he did for Amapá.”

“The last president of the republic that ruled this country, I doubt you here in Amapá meet a brick that he put in this state. A single hospital he built, how many schools he did here, ”he said.

“It would be important if we made an assessment so that the people would not allow the truth to be crucified in the name of lies,” concluded Lula.

Although Lula has already made critical statements to the previous management, Thursday’s speech is part of a new government communication strategy, under the command of Sidônio Palmeira at the Secretariat of Communication. The goal is to reverse the fall in the president’s popularity, especially in the face of the approach of the 2026 elections.

The most recent survey of the Atlasintel Institute, released on Tuesday (11), confirms the deterioration of government approval. According to the survey, 51.4% of respondents disapprove of Lula management, while 45.9% evaluate it positively. Only 2.7% have no opinion formed.

The numbers indicate the worst moment of the petista administration, consolidating a discharge trend in rejection since December, when disapproval exceeded approval for the first time.

Given this scenario, the Planalto Palace intensifies efforts to consolidate the discourse of differentiation in relation to the Bolsonaro government, betting on deliveries and concrete projects as a way to recover popular support.
