Case of the former mayor of Taboão da Serra (SP): Police concludes that attack was forged
The Civil Police and the São Paulo Public Prosecution Service concluded that the alleged attempted murder against the then mayor of Taboão da Serra (SP), José Aprigio (Somos), in October 2024, was forged with the objective of benefiting him at Electoral dispute.
According to investigations conducted by the 1st Taboão Police District and the Prosecutor’s Office, gunfire against Aprigio’s vehicle was simulated by politician’s allies, who sought to create a political fact to boost their candidacy for reelection. Despite the maneuver, he lost his second round to engineer Daniel (União Brasil).
On Monday (17), authorities carried out an operation in the city to comply with arrest warrants against suspects involved in the plan. There is evidence that the former mayor himself participated in the staging, with the direct involvement of municipal secretaries.
