What changes to the population with dengue emergency in SP
The State of São Paulo decreed emergency by dengue on Wednesday (19), after registering 124 thousand cases and 113 deaths in 2025. The measure allows to streamline and release additional resources to combat the mosquito Aedes aegypti. The emergency also facilitates the implementation of preventive measures and expands dengue vaccination in critical regions.
What happened
The Secretary of Health of the State of São Paulo, Eleuses Paiva, said on Wednesday (19) state of emergency through dengue throughout the territory of São Paulo. The decree, which will be made official by Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), aims to accelerate actions against the mosquito Aedes aegypti and get more funds from the federal government.
So far, 59 cities in the state have already decreed this emergency. In the state, 124,038 cases of dengue and 113 deaths in 2025 were confirmed, with 82,908 more cases and 233 deaths still under investigation. The most impacted area is São José do Rio Preto, with 35,347 cases and 35 deaths.
