Musk said during the campaign that Doge would save $ 2 trillion from US coffers. Fishback’s proposal provides that a fifth of this money will be distributed among about 79 million families who pay taxes in the US, totaling about $ 5,000 for each.

Musk, however, contradicted his own forecast. In January, after the electoral victory, the billionaire stated that his department’s work should not result in $ 2 trillion economies, and that the goal was “the best possible scenario.”

Musk program dismissed government officials and cut federal programs. Cost reductions come from measures such as “detection and elimination of fraud, cancellation and renegotiation of contracts and leases, sale of assets, subsidies cancellation, reduced labor force, programmatic changes and regulatory economy.”

X owner says it has saved $ 55 billion, but doge receipts give much lower value. A Bloomberg report points out that the sum presented on the department’s website detail only 16.6 billion in economies.
