Probably. I don’t know if the legal process against Bolsonaro will lead to shock. But in one way or another, Brazil and the US will face each other. Brazil has serious institutions, a serious foreign policy, is a large country. It is not such an easy country to be the target of bullying, such as Costa Rica, Colombia.

In the US, we see an aggressive foreign policy that is not concerned with Soft Powerwith legitimacy. An foreign policy that is pleased to humiliate other countries. What was done with Central America is much harder to do against Brazil.

Brazil will not retreat and there will be conflict. Whether in the migratory issue, or trade. That said, we are still in the first round of a boxing fight. Trump is the boxer releasing the blows.

But what can change?

One thing we know about governments and politics is that the world intercedes. And things that force the government to answer and react. Right now, Trump is in the offensive. But things happen, be it a natural disaster, war, a scandal or an economic crisis.

At one point, he will have to deal with it and have less time to get into stupid fights.
