Dilma Rousseff is admitted to China after malaise and cancels the BRICS Agenda

Former President Dilma Rousseff was admitted to a Shanghai hospital in China after a malaise last Friday (21). According to information confirmed by S.Paulo FolhaDilma presented high blood pressure, vomiting and dizziness.

Since April 2023, Dilma occupies the presidency of the New Development Bank (NDB), the Bank of Brics. His mandate at the institution would end in July 2025, but the Brazilian government negotiated exceptional extension for another five years.

From July this year, the former president will report to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, as agreed between him and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) at the end of last year.

Due to the hospitalization, Dilma canceled her participation in the meeting of Finance Ministers and presidents of Brics central banks, which takes place in Cape Town, South Africa.

There is still no official information on the former president’s discharge forecast.
